A productive fieldwork on school-to-school collaboration in Chengdu.

After a busy and productive week in Chengdu, I returned to Sendai and the campus. It was excited to visit policy makers, school leaders, teachers, community leaders and scholars to exchange ideas about how school-to-school collaboration in Chengdu was implemented and how it contributed to school improvement. A top-down education policy making and implementation in China's context requires a continuous policy innovation to compensate the policy disconnectedness and policy conflict in order to promote the reform. It was a great experience of listening to many stories about the reform and the issues people concern!
